Core Geoscience Services Inc. (CoreGeo) is a 100% Yukon-owned environmental and engineering company, started by 2 Yukon-raised professionals. We have been successfully operating and supporting Yukon and BC communities for the last 6 years. Our corporate culture is rooted in respect, humility, honesty, dedication, and devotion to our staff, all people, and the environment.
We proudly employ 18+ professionals and are growing throughout western Canada. Our headquarters and majority of staff are proudly located in Whitehorse. We have done this purposely to retain Yukon professionals, and to support our local economies and communities. At CoreGeo, everyone’s safety is paramount. In 2022, CoreGeo became COR certified verifying that CoreGeo’s Health and Safety procedures meet the national standards in the Yukon. This also ensures the ongoing maintenance of these procedures through audits and continuous training, keeping health and safety at the forefront.
Additionally, CoreGeo has worked diligently and placed the utmost importance to protect Yukoners and Yukon communities from the spread of COVID-19. We have completed the steps ordered by Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and continue to follow proper procedures.

Eri Boye has 15+ years of experience working in the mining, mineral exploration, environmental consulting, environmental impact assessment, and permitting fields. Eri holds a M.Sc. and is a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) with Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
Eri’s professional portfolio includes files within the following fields: mining and minerals exploration, mine and infrastructure development, reclamation and closure, contaminated sites (ESA), major mines permitting and licensing. Eri has developed a strong working relationship with B.C. and Yukon’s First Nations.
In Eri’s spare time he enjoys travelling, meeting new people, learning about their cultures, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Ethan Allen

Ethan Allen is an environmental geochemist with over 15 years of experience in mineral exploration, mining, reclamation, and municipal waste industries in Yukon and B.C. Ethan was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, and holds a M.Sc. in Geology from Loma Linda University. Ethan has played key leadership and technical roles on northern mining, reclamation, and resource development projects and is knowledgeable about the Yukon’s legislative, assessment, permitting and regulatory processes, and is keen to apply lessons of mining history to improving mining’s future.
His experience has provided him with valuable lessons working with First Nation, Territorial, and Federal governments. Ethan has been responsible for designing and conducting a variety of environmental field sampling programs, research and innovation, environmental data analysis and technical report writing with an emphasis on mine waste and granular materials geochemistry, geo-environmental modeling, and development of waste and water management strategies. Ethan is passionate about applying his experience and connections within the north to help deliver tailored solutions to complex challenges.
Outside of work, Ethan enjoys participating in sports, having adventures in the wilderness, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering to try to make the world better.
Catherine Henry

Catherine has 15+ years professional experience in the academic, governmental and private sectors including in the mineral exploration and mining industry. She has extensive experience with the design and execution of environmental baseline and compliance studies. She also has considerable experience with environmental effects monitoring (EEM), regulatory permitting, effects assessments, management plans, licensing support and third party technical reviews. Catherine is proficient with air dispersion and noise prediction modeling, statistical analysis of environmental data, and technical reporting.
Catherine holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Science from l’Université du Québec à Montréal and a B.Sc. in physics and atmospheric science from McGill University. She holds ECO Canada’s Environmental Professional (EP) designation since 2017.
Catherine is an avid backcountry skier and mountain biker, who also loves adventuring around the world, music, art and new experiences in general.

Jessica has 14 years of experience in the fields of geoscience research and development, environmental assessment, technical reviewing and reporting, and teaching. Jessica is a member of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, as a Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo).
Jessica’s professional portfolio includes: team lead on Water Balance/Climate Change Initiative for a Yukon First Nation; technical reviewer for reports on groundwater, mine planning and Acid Rock Drainage/ Metal Leaching (ARD/ML); environmental assessments; providing guidance for Yukon’s first ARD/ML guidelines; research and development in the field of waste rock and tailings stabilization; and instructor in geographical sciences.

Matt Corriveau has over 10 years of experience working in environmental consulting. His professional portfolio includes: applied rock geochemical characterization, metal leaching/acid rock drainage (ML/ARD) prediction and prevention, surface and groundwater quality assessments, hydrogeological studies, water quality prediction/mass load modeling, management plans, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, permitting, licensing, and reclamation & closure.
Matt holds a M.Sc. in Aqueous Hydrogeochemistry from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. Matt also holds a BSc.E in Geological Engineering (Environmental Option) and a B.A. in Economics from Queen’s University, Ontario. Matt is a registered Professional Engineer with Engineers Yukon.
Matt is a lover of basketball, trivia, food and music, and likes volunteering, cycling and cooking in his spare time.

Durand has 12 years of experience working in mining, environmental consulting, environmental monitoring, contaminated sites, inspection and permitting and licensing fields. He holds an Associate Degree of Arts in Anthropology from Camosun College, British Columbia.
Durand’s professional portfolio includes: Phase I, II and III ESA and contaminated site work, environmental monitoring and reporting, baseline field data collection and analysis, surface and groundwater studies (sampling, analysis and reporting), remediation, compliance, inspection and permitting/licensing support, public education, and First Nation consultation.
Durand is a born and raised Yukoner who enjoys hockey, golf, spending time with his family and being outdoors.

Andrea Badger is an environmental scientist with 12 years of experience as a field lead in environmental consulting, in a regulatory position with the Yukon Water Board and as a project manager with the Government of Yukon. She is experienced in all elements of contaminated sites and environmental projects, having supported numerous large scale, multi–year projects from inception through permitting, investigation, construction, remediation and reporting. Andrea has contributed to projects in a number of roles in both private and public sector. She integrates elements from her varied experience into project work providing practical and cost-effective solutions to clients.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with an environmental focus as well as a Diploma of Northern Studies. She is a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers Yukon.
Outside of work Andrea is a dedicated athlete who trains year-round for powerlifting competitions and coaches and plays roller derby.

Lisa-Marie Leclerc achieved her M.Sc in Arctic Marine Ecology at the University of Tromso (Norway). She has been involved in Arctic research for the past 20 years. Her broad knowledge gives her a unique understanding of the marine and terrestrial Arctic environments and has effectively facilitated interactions with the Aboriginal cultures from Alaska, Norway and Canada.
Through the years, she was the Project Lead on many successful programs while developing collaborative partnerships with local communities. Since 2012, she has worked as the Regional Biologist for the Government of Nunavut leading population surveys of ungulates. She has also contributed in the development of management plans and review mitigation plans, while working with NGOs, First Nations, Academia and federal and territorial governments.
Rob Smith

Rob has over 40 years of professional experience as an environmental technician, educator, fish and wildlife biologist, fish habitat biologist and environmental management analyst. In the last few decades, he has been involved in the development, regulatory review, and implementation of a wide variety of projects within the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and British Columbia. He has extensive experience with regulatory permitting and licensing including the assessment of developmental impacts to fish and fish habitat, and environmental assessment of transportation infrastructure. He also has experience with leading, planning, conducting and or supporting research and innovation, environmental data collection and analysis, proposal development, consultation and engagement, senior report review, and technical report writing.
Rob holds a B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Manitoba.
Rob enjoys traveling adventures along with photography, hunting, fishing, and wildlife art.
Alicia Vainio

Alicia is a geologist with 5 years of experience working in the fields of mineral exploration, mining and environmental consulting in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and British Columbia. She has experience with Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments and contaminated sites remediation; environmental monitoring and reporting; and project management.
Alicia holds a B.Sc. in Earth Science from the University of Victoria; and is a member of Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a Professional Geoscientist.
Alicia developed an early passion for geology and the outdoors in Faro, Yukon where she was born and raised. Her hobbies include hiking, prospecting, kick-sledding, snowmobiling, and travelling with her family and friends.

She holds an M.Sc. from Dalhousie University in Earth Sciences, specifically in field of experimental geochemistry, and a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Victoria. Natashia is a registered Geologist-in-Training (GIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
Natashia loves to spend her spare time being active outside. She enjoys riding bikes, climbing rocks, hiking, and tending to her vegetable garden.
Katya Zaborniak

Katya moved to Whitehorse from Vancouver Island, BC. She has 2 years of experience in government assisting on multiple projects including a pilot program assessing the application of drone-based instruments as a tool for drift prospecting and surficial sediment mapping, as well as investigating Critical Mineral Systems in BC.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Geography and Earth and Ocean Science from the University of Victoria and is a registered Geoscientist-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
Outside of work she enjoys many outdoor activities, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Sruthee has 4 years of professional experience in environmental consulting. With CoreGeo, she has been involved in various geo-environmental projects including Phase I, II, III environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring, documents reviews, regulatory permitting and licensing support, research and development specifically into microplastics research, and public outreach. Sruthee is also one of CoreGeo’s Health, Safety and Environmental Officer
Sruthee holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Ottawa and a Climate Change Policy certificate from Yukon University. Her honours project focused on microbial mercury reduction process in soil using model strains known to reduce mercury for soil remediation processes.
Outside of work, Sruthee is part of various social projects such as Youth Data Collection and Research Project with the Northern Council for Global Cooperation and is the Co Chair of the Yukon Youth Panel of Climate Change. She loves travelling, hiking, kayaking, catching up on TV shows and movies, and hanging out with friends and family.

Hannah is an Environmental Scientist with over a year of professional experience in environmental consulting. She holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of the South Pacific and has worked on various projects with CoreGeo. The projects include contaminated site work, remediation activities, groundwater monitoring and environmental monitoring, notably on a large-scale project.
In addition to her role, Hannah also serves as one of CoreGeo’s Health and Safety Officers.
Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, discovering new places, and spending quality time with family and friends.

She has 8 years of extensive professional experience in data analysis and modeling environmental systems, water purification, and research. She has 10+ publications in peer reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings.
Outside of work Daria loves hiking, playing tennis, reading books and spending time with her family and friends.
Marina Giacomin

Marina is an environmental scientist with a strong background in aquatic sciences and environmental toxicology with 10+ years of experience working in the academic and government sectors. She holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has 20+ publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings.
Marina has extensive experience researching the toxic effects of contaminants (metals, oils, pesticides and plastics) to aquatic species such as fish and invertebrates, and how they interact with varying water quality parameters and affect environmental health.
In Marina’s spare time she enjoys travelling, hiking, taking photographs of wildlife, spending quality time with friends and cooking delicious meals.

Julia has 15+ years of experience working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Information Technology. She has knowledge of both ESRI and Open Data systems. She has recently been working on Python programming, ArcGIS Pro functionality in combination with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS mobile data collection, creating models to delineate watershed boundaries, satellite imagery processing, and cartographic design. Due to her interest in problem solving she works as an information technologist.
She graduated with distinction from an Advanced Diploma in GIS program at BCIT. She holds a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences and a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences with a Concentration in GIS.
She enjoys coffee, chocolate, puzzles, and mobility training.

Outside of her work life, Ashala is heavily involved in dragon boating in her community and loves to be on the water as much as possible.
